Volunteer Information

Nearly 2000 volunteers contribute approximately 100,000 hours annually to make the Bob Hope Classic a success. Thanks to their efforts, the tournament has donated nearly $49 million to local charities since its inception fifty-one years ago. As our tournament grows, the Classic continually relies on the support of new volunteers.

  • Tournament Office Support: Volunteers assist with ticket sales, phone inquiries, will call, and general office support. Volunteers are also needed to help box and wrap gifts and assist with mailings. Good telephone and "people" skills are key. The Classic office is extremely hectic and volunteers need to be able to work independently and in an active environment.
Days needed: Begins December 1, 2010, and works through the tournament.
    Hours needed: Depends on schedule.

Training, Credentials, Meals and Uniforms. Each volunteer is given specific training as needed. Each receives a volunteer badge as well as a guest badge. During tournament week, volunteers receive coffee and rolls in the morning and a box lunch later. Volunteers purchase their keepsake uniforms emblazoned with the Classic logo at the tournament's discounted cost.

The Official Bob Hope Classic Uniforms consist of:

  • Golf Shirt with logo
  • Golf Cap or Visor, with logo, provided compliments of The Classic
  • Jacket, Sweater, or Vest with logo (optional)
  • Volunteer's own khaki slacks
